Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. Her roles include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney grew up with her four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated into New York.
